Moving into Focus 2021

In the past months, CREA dance students at intermediate and advanced level have been working on a choreography under guidance of one of our dance teachers/choreographers. On Saturday 26 June (20:00) they presented three pieces at the annual Moving into Focus. This edition was live streamed.

Melting clock is a choreographic collage inspired by Beauty, Remembrance and Salvador Dalí´s painting The Persistence of Memory. The movement is composed from reflections on the senses, videos, images, architecture and text, addressing limitations, atmosphere, physicality, feeling, action and texture.

A desire to meet. Dreaming together, working together, doing together.
Choreographer Pascale: “In this second lockdown period, we wanted to physically experience the creative process as much as possible. In the first phase, we worked with separate groups of dancers and, once permission was granted, with the entire group every week. This was a conscious choice; during the first lockdown, the choreography project was largely a solo project from a distance in the living room. Now with this group of dancers, we have taken a different approach. Every week, we worked outside with the dancers to create a group choreography. Stimulating each other in creativity live gives other inspiration and was definitely a good idea this time. Also the choice to dance in a concrete living room gave a new impulse in the creative process.”
